SR-6R Stereotaxic Instruments (for Rats)
Specially designed for rats, fixing the head firmly.
This new stereotaxic instrument in our successful SR series is designed specifically for rats, and features various special functions to fix the head more firmly. Smooth manipulation of clamping actions with one hand is made possible by the auxiliary ear bar, and the operator can check that the external auditory canal is fixed correctly by feeling with the fingertips. The mouth and nose fixing clamp is designed thin and small, to match the dimensions of a small rat's mouth, allowing easy confirmation of teeth fixation. In addition, the instrument allows easy back/forward and up/down position adjustment. An 18.7mm AP frame bar is provided, to which many different types of accessories can be attached besides the attached micromanipulator SM-15. The SR-5R has one AP frame bar, while the SR-6R has two.

Narishige produces world standard 18.7mm square shape AP frame bar. Please be advised when mounting on your existent frames since our stereotaxic manipulators are tailored for 18.7mm AP frame bar.

SM-15 Stereotaxic Micromanipulator
Compact, versatile and popular micromanipulator.
This is the most popular micromanipulator for stereotaxic instruments, and is attached to AP bar of the instrument when in use. Coarse movement units with a long working range is attached to both the X-axis and the Z-axis; the latter also has fine movement units attached. The fine movement handle is positioned for ease of use, and jitters from handle operations are not transmitted to the microelectrode tips. Vertical and horizontal rotation mechanisms are both equipped, enabling approaches from any required tilting angle. Easy-to-use scales are provided wherever necessary, for operations following a brain chart. This manipulator has a compact yet rigid design, and can be operated with excellent stability in confined spaces.

EB-4N Auxiliary Ear Bar for Rats
This auxiliary ear bar is for use with SR series stereotaxic instruments. Since the bar is attached before fixing the rat on to the fixing clamp, the procedure is simple: even if the animal is detached and the re-fixed, repeated fixation is quick and easy. Smooth, uncomplicated clamping with one hand is much easier than with conventional models.
