SR-6M Stereotaxic Instruments (for Mice)
Specially designed for mice, fixing the head firmly.
Based on our long-established SR series, this stereotaxic instrument is designed specifically for mice and is equipped with various functions to fix the head more firmly. The auxiliary ear bar allows clamping actions to be smoothly manipulated with just one hand, letting the operator fix the external auditory canal and check the fixation firmness with the fingertips. The mouth and nose fixing clamp features a slim, compact design appropriate for the mouth of a small mouse, making it easy to confirm that the teeth are fixed firmly. In addition, the instrument allows easy back/forward and up/down position adjustment. An 18.7mm AP frame bar is provided, to which many different types of accessories can be attached besides the attached micromanipulator SM-15. The SR-5M has one AP frame bar, while the SR-6M has two.
Basic model (excluding SM-15) also available. When using these instruments with rats, use the separate RA-6N as well.
SM-15
Stereotaxic Micromanipulator
Compact, versatile and popular micromanipulator.
This is the most popular micromanipulator for stereotaxic instruments, and is attached to AP bar of the instrument when in use. Coarse movement units with a long working range is attached to both the X-axis and the Z-axis; the latter also has fine movement units attached. The fine movement handle is positioned for ease of use, and jitters from handle operations are not transmitted to the microelectrode tips. Vertical and horizontal rotation mechanisms are both equipped, enabling approaches from any required tilting angle. Easy-to-use scales are provided wherever necessary, for operations following a brain chart. This manipulator has a compact yet rigid design, and can be operated with excellent stability in confined spaces.

Narishige produces world standard 18.7mm square shape AP frame bar. Please be advised when mounting on your existent frames since our stereotaxic manipulators are tailored for 18.7mm AP frame bar.

Auxiliary Ear Bar for Mice
Used with SR series stereotaxic instruments, this auxiliary ear bar is attached before fixing the mouse on to the fixing clamp, making fixation simple. Even if the animal is detached and the re-fixed, repeated fixation is quick and easy. Smooth, uncomplicated clamping with one hand is much easier than with conventional models.
